September 12 in Science Class.  We did the Try this on page 32.  We spent time reading and looking over our nj's.  All of lesson 2 should be completed.  We started taking notes on Lesson 3.

5 & 6 grade need to read Walrus Family pg 47 - 50.  Do copy work on in NJ pg 50.

3 & 4 grade please read Eared Seals and Walrus Family pg 45-50.  Do copy work JNJ  52 and reg NJ pg 50.

The majority of students are doing very well.  They are picking up the information very nicely and overall I think they are very interested.  It is important to have conversations about what they are learning to help them pull it all together in their little minds.  I especially enjoy that the quiet children are becoming more vocal.  I have noticed that there is a growing # of students that are coming to class without their Notebooking Journals.  Also, keep in mind that when we read in class it is helpful to the students if they bring their textbook to follow along in.  This helps them to stay focused and less chatting occurs during reading.  The families with multiple children send their book with the child whom has science first and the book stays in the room until their last child uses it and then it goes home with the last child.

Sincerely,
Melissa
