Good Afternoon,
Today in Science was a busy day. All classes are pretty well at the same place. Everyone should have most of lesson 1 read. All classes performed the Try This on page 15 and the experiment on page 18. All classes except for the 2nd grade completed a Scientific Speculation Sheet for the experiment. They should have all the info. in their little brains to do this at home. The 2nd grade performed it and understood; however had lots of other things to occupy their time with. So you should all have interesting dinner conversation. Just ask them what is heavier; hot or cold water. The 3rd and 4th grade also performed the Try This on page 7. The other classes did this last week. For homework everyone should read The Bottom Line on page 16. They have answered the questions labeled as What do You remember if they have the regular Journal. This is a great way to see what they know, so ask them a few of the questions. We ran out of time to complete our Ocean Box so will do it at a later time. Remember they are all encouraged to make one of their own at home. All the classes at least started the Lesson 1 mini book (found in the back of their notebook). All classes are at different stages of this. They should work on it at home and finish it for Monday. When it is put together and glued into their Journals they should then write what they know about each particular tab. The Junior Journals should also be playing with their puzzles. We had a confusing time dealing with them today but had little time to enjoy them, so enjoy it with your child. Trust me they know their stuff, just ask them about it. The Regular Journals should be starting and completing their crossword puzzles. On Monday we will all be going over our answers from all of lesson 1. We will spend a bit of time in conversation and then will begin lesson 2. Thank you all for the opportunity to present to your children. I am still getting to know new names but am enjoying my time with all of them.
